I was approached by a trade union of education and science workers in the Cherkasy region to develop a logo for their 70th anniversary. The requirements were to develop this logo with a simple color scheme, in a literal way, and with the possibility of effective placement both online and on printed materials.
When designing the logo, I initially focused on a shorter naming, as the client initially suggested adding the full name of the event: “70 years of the Cherkasy Regional Organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine”. A successful option came to mind immediately, and it remained as “70 years of the Trade Union of Educators of Cherkasy Region” (in Ukrainian it sounds much shorter).
My sketches focused on the combination of the number 70 and naming. After working on different placements and font combinations, I came up with two options.
Later, while communicating with the customer, we decided to focus on the second one and add a certain color accent.
So, the final version of the logo is below:
